My Story
My Experience Made Me Who I Am Today
As a twice diagnosed cancer patient I have significant understanding and empathy with clients who are living with a diagnosis, being under treatment, facing end of life or struggling coming to terms with a condition you have. I have the ultimate understanding of what it is like to be told you potentially have a life limiting illness. I have also worked with family members and carers of patients and understand the sensitivities of being in such a position.
In addition, I have worked with a lot of clients suffering loss and
bereavement and the many issues that arise from this, such as
attachment, past abuse, mental health issues, low self-esteem/confidence, relationship issues.
As a former senior manager in the security industry, who took my employer through the traumatic and expensive process of an employment tribunal, I have significant regard for anybody experiencing employment issues, I understand sometimes its hard to discuss these things with your employer and also your family. Alongside this comes experience of financial worries.
I fully believe in the person-centred process and provide the core conditions for a counselling process to work. I do have experience of working clients in many other areas. I believe you are the expert on yourself and I would like to work alongside you to resolve whatever is bringing you to counselling and support.
